Twitter has been going a little insane that Sam Smith will be singing the theme song for Spectre, the new James Bond film due out in theatres on November 6, 2015. In a statement released this morning, EON Productions, Sony Pictures, and MGM Studios confirmed that Sam Smith has recorded “Writings on the Wall.”   The song is expected to be released later today but nothing has been made official.

There is also speculation that Ellie Goulding and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke collaborated on this Sam Smith Spectre theme song.  More details will soon follow.

Spectre is the 24th James Bond film and is rumoured to be the last starring Daniel Craig.  The cast includes Christophe Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Ben Wishaw, and Monica Bellucci.  The film will be directed by Sam Mendes, who also directed the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall.
