Monty Python and the Holy GrailMonty Python fans rejoice, especially if you live in the U.K.  Variety has just reported that Sony Pictures and U.K. distributor Park Circus plan to release the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail for one night only on October 14 in a special sing-a-long release in time for the film’s 40th anniversary.  Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is planning a special 40th Anniversary blu ray release later this year.

There are no dates confirmed in North America for this sing-a-long version, but international distributor Rainbow Releasing has been attached to the film for a U.S. release.  The Monty Python cast, including Eric Idle, John Cleese, Michael Palin, and the film’s directors: Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones will be providing a special introduction to the film.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail has one of the largest cult followings in the world.  The film has been cited as one of the funniest movies of all time and currently sits at #93 on IMDB’s Top 250 Movies of All Time as voted on by its users.
